Responding to the varied specialties within the home building industry, HBANC has individual councils and committees that address issues from our members’ unique perspectives.

Councils

Sales and Marketing Council

The Sales and Marketing Council is designed to meet the needs of sales agents, marketing professionals and related business associates through educational programs, workshops, special events, networking and meetings. SMC provides information on timely industry issues enabling members to stay on the cutting edge of success. The council also hosts the annual MAME Awards to recognize HBANC members’ Marketing And Merchandising Excellence. The Association's chapter is the local affiliate of the NAHB Sales and Marketing Council.

Women’s Council

The HBANC Women's Council encourages networking and empowerment of members as they progress in their careers and fosters professionalism within the building industry. The Council provides a positive environment where female and male members can learn about educational opportunities, mentoring and advancing their business knowledge and promotes the home building industry through support of community organizations. The Association's chapter is part of the NAHB Women's Council.

Committees

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee works with HBANC staff on matters concerning public relations and public affairs for the housing industry and the Association. The committee helps staff develop programs to promote and publicize the activities, policies and goals of HBANC as the voice of the housing industry and as a source of reliable information on housing issues, both internally for members and externally to the general public and policy makers, and evaluates the Association’s publications and other outreach materials.

Department of Real Estate (DRE) Committee

The DRE Committee monitors the activities and regulations of the state Department of Real Estate.

Governmental Affairs Committee

The Governmental Affairs Committee is responsible for keeping the Association's leadership and membership informed on governmental and public policy issues. HBANC governmental affairs staff and the committee monitor legislation, regulatory actions and policies affecting the housing industry, communicate relevant information to the membership and act as liaison with CBIA in providing input and grassroots support for issues of concern to the industry.

Infill Committee

The Infill Committee focuses on building and redevelopment in established urban communities and highlights the many successful projects that builders have undertaken in major metropolitan markets to create a focal point for infill builders. The committee encourages and facilitates the revitalization of urban areas by promoting the reuse and recycling of previously developed and passed-over land and buildings in both urban and rural areas and acts as a clearinghouse and think tank to bring the best and brightest minds together about how to increase residential infill and mixed-use opportunities in urban areas.123

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee focuses on new member recruitment. It establishes goals for increasing membership, leads and manages the Association’s annual Membership Drive and partners with the Membership Retention Committee to present quarterly new member welcome receptions. It promotes subcontractor and vendor industry education, encourages volunteer participation and advocates “Building Relationships and Enriching Lives” and the “Doing Business With Members Matters” program.

P.A.S.S (Purchasing Agents, Subcontractors and Suppliers) Committee

The P.A.S.S. Committee is dedicated to building strategic relationships between builders and associate members within HBANC. The P.A.S.S. Committee creates a professional networking environment for Association-member purchasing agents (builders) with subcontractors and suppliers (associates) to meet and exchange professional and educational resources including hosting two luncheons each year.

Programs Committee

The Programs Committee is responsible with HBANC staff for creating the Association's annual events calendar with input from all committees, councils and divisions for the purpose of facilitating meaningful membership interaction and education. The committee ensures that each event fulfills the Association's mission, purpose and goals.
